Sincere and dedicated efforts by Madhu (and little effort by cyber), Video Girmit (VG) has reached 98 countried around the 
world. We can proudly say that we have reached to almost every kannadiga on earth ! (hopefully 
. You will all be shocked to see the statistics of Video Girmit !
Loaded with more than 5,200 videos of music and movies indexed from other streaming sites, VG has the largest collection of kannada music and movies in the cyberspace. With more than 6,700 daily visitors, Video Girmit is among the most popular kannada sites on the net 
. Reaching out to more than 98 countries with registered members going beyond 2,000; VG is one of the favorite kannada movies and music sites online. As many as 10 new users register on the site daily. Listed by many sites and listed under favourite’s of many of the kannada sangha’s in US, VG stands on top of the list of sites to watch Kannada movies and music videos online.
We would like to thank all the members of VG who have been constantly adding and suggesting videos to index on VG. Especially we would like to show appreciation to few special members (rprs1983,Sirigannadiga,boothayya,eKannadiga) who have contributed immensely to VG. Silly, but still its kinda cool. As announced by the Official Gmail blog, only few lucky ones got the themes on the first hour of release. And guess what among all our friend’s ids and our team members id’s, videogirmit(at)gmail.com id was the lucky id to have the Gmail themes.
Both the best featured releases were done on the same day. Gmail themes and Video Girmit.
So apart from dedicating Video Girmit to kannada lovers, we dedicate it to Gmail tooo ..for making our release day special.

You must be wondering, if we have made it like youtube, it must have all features of it. Partly Yes and No.
We have lot of Youtube features and still more to come. Lets look at what features are avialable on VG.
- Special Lights Off
while viewing your videos, you can get distracted with the content around, so make it dark and just enjoy the video. you will love this feature. ( right now it works perfect in Firefox Only )
- Dynamic Search
The search dropdown list gets populated as you start typing, this makes your search more easier. ( works perfectly in Firefox)
-Full Screen Videos
You can view all videos and movies fullscreen right on our site.
- Suggest Videos
You can suggest a new video or a video which is better in quality than the existing one on the site.
- Favourites
Register and enjoy this feature, you can play all your favourite songs using your favourite’s playlist.
- Tags
Tags on the page makes your search for videos even more easier, you don’t even need to search, just click on the tags and find all the videos related to that tag.
- Embed on Blog/MySpace/Hi5 etc
You can even have these videos on your own blog/MySpace/Hi5 page, just by copy pasting a small piece of code given by us.

After success of Radio Girmit, we were in search for ideas to implement the next one. We were discussing one weekend and we thought of making a site simillar to some existing movie sites etc.
But then madhu said why don’t we do a “Kannada Youtube”. That was nice. We discussed a lot and finally came to a conclusion. The KISS principle comes into action again, we strictly thought of making it perfectly light weight with neat web safe colours and Yes.. without popup ads of course !
The next step was to make a survey of existing sites and how good they are and what are their drawbacks. Taking into account all those we finally started off for the “Kannada” “Youtube”.
We got a template exactly as we wanted and madhu started off with it and it tooks almost 3 weeks to set everything right and look as we had thought.
Contributions :
- All the design and implementation as per our requirement was done by madhu. ( cyber assisted a little ).
- Logo by cyber ( with color sense of manoj ).
- Content addition by madhu & cyber
Note: This idea was kept a secret and we didn’t even tell it to our Radio Girmit Team members ! 
We hope to make Video Girmit a perfect destination for all kannada music and video lovers.
